NBA – March 3rd

Arch rivals from the Eastern Conference are going to meet in NBA betting action on Sunday afternoon in one of the showcase games of the season, as the New York Knicks look to tame the Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden.

The Heat are still rolling right now, and the argument could be made that their 13-game winning streak, though not the longest in the NBA this year, is still the most impressive run that a team has gone on. The squad really has dismantled a number of solid teams along the way in some tough spots, including blasting the Memphis Grizzlies, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, and others. A few of those games have come on the road too, showing that the Heat can win anywhere, home or away. There is a lot of talk this year about F LeBron James, and he is going to win the MVP Award once again. However, the man that has really been carrying Miami in a quiet way has been G Dwyane Wade. “Flash” has picked up at least 22 points in four straight games, and he is up to averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per game for the season.

The Knicks are still trying to fend off the Brooklyn Nets atop the Atlantic Division. They know that running down the Heat for the top seed in the conference is out of reach, but finishing as the No. 2 seed ahead of the winner of the Central Division would be a great step in the right direction. New York is five up in the loss column coming into the weekend on Brooklyn, but the lead is only 2.5 games in total. Head Coach Mike Woodson and the gang have won three in a row, though the squad only snapped its eight-game coverless streak on March 1st against the Washington Wizards on the road. It should be interesting to see how this team plays now that G Jason Kidd is going to be coming off of the bench. The Knicks might literally be a better team without Kidd though, because he was seventh on the team in scoring in spite of the fact that he is fifth on the team in minutes played.

Prediction:

Remember when the Knicks beat down the Heat by 20 points in November and December? Yeah, don’t plan on that happening again. Miami is just playing too well right now to only be laying 4.5 points in this game. Back the boys from South Beach now to get the job done at the Garden and get some big time revenge. Miami 111 – New York 103
