MLB Betting Trends for Series Starting 6/6

It’s rare that all of the series in Major League Baseball start on the same day, but this weekend it works out that way. Everybody gets started on Friday to start off the weekend series. Boston and Detroit meet in a rematch of the ALCS from last year, but both of those teams are strangely struggling mightily so far this year. Plenty of nice high profile matchups to dig our teeth into this weekend.

BangtheBook wants to give you more information to make your baseball bets winning ones this year. We will be posting this MLB trends article two times each week. Expect this article on Monday’s and Thursday’s of each week. This article will highlight trends to consider for this weekend’s series’.

-Boston goes to Detroit this weekend having a 27-32 record on the year. Detroit was just swept by the Blue Jays on their home field. It wasn’t supposed to be like this for either team. Remember, there is plenty of time to turn it around for these teams. Boston is 13-3 in their last 16 road games vs. a left-handed starter. Detroit is 8-3 in their last 11 home games vs. the Red Sox.

-For some reason, the Oakland Athletics have really had the Baltimore Orioles number for many years. Oakland is 76-36 in the last 112 meetings between these two teams. Baltimore goes into this weekend’s series as winners of four straight games. Oakland is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.

-Philadelphia and Cincinnati square off this weekend, and it should be a pitcher’s duel on Friday night between Cole Hamels and Johnny Cueto. Amazingly, the Phillies are 12-0 in Hamels’ last 12 starts vs. the Reds. Six of those games came on the road. The Phillies are also 4-0 in Hamels last 4 starts vs. Cueto. On the other hand, the Reds are 22-7 in Cueto’s last 29 home starts.

-Atlanta is surprisingly 0-7 in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a losing record. The Braves will be up against a team with a losing record this weekend in Arizona. Arizona is just 10-25 in their last 35 home games. Atlanta is 12-4 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams.

-The Minnesota Twins are 8-0 in Phil Hughes’ last 8 starts. He starts Friday vs. the Houston Astros. The Astros are just 3-7 in their last 10 games at Minnesota. Dallas Keuchel vs. Phil Hughes is an interesting pitching matchup for Friday.

-After a red hot start, the Colorado Rockies are now 0-6 in their last 6 games. This team has fallen below .500. The Dodgers are just 2-6 in their last 8 games, and they have been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball. The over is 19-7 in the last 26 games between these two at Coors Field.

-The Mets are 5-0 in their last 5 games at San Francisco. Can they slow down the locomotive that is the San Francisco Giants this year? The Giants have the best record in baseball right now, and they are playing great baseball. Matt Cain makes his return to the mound for the Giants on Friday. The over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams.
