MLB Betting Trends for Series Starting 7/21 and 7/22

The All-Star break has come and gone and now is the time where the contenders and pretenders get sorted out. Can Milwaukee hold off St. Louis or Pittsburgh in the logjam that is the NL Central? Can Baltimore hold off the entire AL East in a division that could get very interesting? Just a little over two months left in the Major League Baseball regular season.

BangtheBook wants to give you more information to make your baseball bets winning ones this year. We will be posting this MLB trends article two times each week. Expect this article on Monday’s and Thursday’s of each week. This article will highlight trends to consider for this week’s series’.

-Looking for a team in total freefall? Look no further than the Texas Rangers. Texas is 16-35 in their last 51 games. They are 3-14 in their last 17 road games. They are 5-23 in their last 28 games following a loss. Basically, the team is a total trainwreck right now. They are in New York to face the Yankees this week. New York is 9-3 in their last 12 games at home against Texas.

-Boston has been wildly inconsistent this year. The Red Sox are back on the upswing. They have won four straight games. As strange as it may sound, they still have a bit of a chance in the American League East since it is so wide open. Boston is in Toronto this week, and the Blue Jays have won four straight overall against the Red Sox. On the other hand, Toronto is 4-9 in their last 13.

-Miami overachieved early in the year, but it’s all falling apart of late. The Marlins are 18-43 in their last 61 meetings against Atlanta, so things don’t look promising for them. Miami is 1-6 in their last 7 games overall. Atlanta is 40-11 in their last 51 games as a home favorite of -151 or greater. They’ll be a big favorite often in this series.

-The Cleveland Indians are 5-0 in their last 5 games following a loss. They are also 6-0 in their last 6 games at Minnesota. They’ll face the Twins this week. Minnesota is 0-4 in their last 4 home games and 9-19 in their last 28 as an underdog.

-Cincinnati and Milwaukee face off in a key series in Milwaukee this week. The Reds are 0-6 in their last 6 road games, and they are really hurting without Joey Votto or Brandon Phillips in the lineup. The Brewers are 3-13 in their last 16, and they have let the rest of the NL Central division right back in the race

-Washington is 60-28 in their last 88 games vs. a team with a losing record. The Nationals are 7-2 in their last 9 games against the Colorado Rockies. The Rockies are 14-38 in their last 52 games overall and 8-19 in their last 27 home games.

-Detroit is 11-3 in their last 14 road games. Arizona has suddenly heated up at home and they have won four straight at Chase Field. The under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Arizona between these two.

-Tampa Bay has come alive of late. The Rays are 14-3 in their last 17 road games. They are another team with an outside chance in the AL East. The Rays have a big series in St. Louis against the Cardinals this week. The Cardinals are 7-3 in their last 10.
