There are plenty of teams still in the thick of the AL Wildcard race. This is exactly why Major League Baseball opened it up to two Wildcard spots in each league. The Pirates host the Reds this weekend in a massive game for the NL Central and NL Wildcard standings. Texas and Kansas City meet in a very important AL Wildcard matchup this weekend as well.

-The Cardinals are trying to keep their small lead in the NL Central. They have to be excited to be going to Milwaukee this weekend. St. Louis is 10-3 in their last 13 games against the Brewers. The Cardinals are 6-1 in their last 7 games at Milwaukee.
-Washington is still alive in the NL Wildcard race, but they can’t avoid any more losses. The Nationals are matched up against the lowly Marlins this weekend. The Nationals have won 13 of their last 16 meetings with the Marlins.
-The Chicago White Sox are 5-22 in their last 27 games at Detroit. The Tigers have a chance to finish off the AL Central this weekend. Chicago is 14-39 in their last 53 road games.
-The Los Angeles Dodgers have clinched the NL West Division, but they will keep fighting to try to finish with the best record in the National League. The Dodgers are 5-0 in their last 5 meetings with the Padres. The Dodgers are 26-9 in their last 35 road games.
-The Cleveland Indians are lurking just behind the Rangers and Rays in the AL Wildcard race. They’ll have a chance to catch up this weekend when they meet up with the lowly Houston Astros. Houston is a brutal 28-96 in their last 124 against a team with a winning record.
-Texas is really struggling of late. The Rangers are 8-23 in their last 31 games against a team with a winning record. The Rangers are 3-13 in their last 16 overall. Kansas City is 12-3 in their last 15 home games against a team with a winning record.
