Here is the MLB Picks for Tuesday April 15, 2014.
Pittsburgh Pirates at Cincinnati Reds
The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cincinnati Reds are being overshadowed early in the season thanks to the streaking Milwaukee Brewers who are stealing all of the headlines. For the Reds one of their bigger problems has been the offense which has struggled of late. A 12 run outburst against the Tampa Bay Rays should get this team headed in the right direction. Mike Leake will go for the Reds and the Reds have done well against the Bucs when he takes the hill. The Reds are 5-2 in Leakes last 7 starts against the Pirates and that includes 4-0 at home. The Reds get back in the win column with a win against the Pirates.
Free Pick: Reds -110
New York Mets vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
The New York Mets are off to an awful start, but so are the Arizona Diamondbacks. The only reason that the Snakes are favored here is because they are at home, but they have won just once in eight tries at home. For as bad as the Mets are they are 3-3 on the road and Jenrry Mejia has pitched well for the Mets. He has allowed just 5 runs in his last two starts and struck out 15 players. The Diamondbacks are 0-5 in their last 5 home games and 5-15 in their last 20 overall. This is one of those rare games where the Mets deserve a look as a road dog.
Free Pick: Mets +115
Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles
The Rays and the Orioles go head to head in an early pivotal matchup in the American League East. The Orioles will start Miguel Gonzalez who has struggled early in the season He is 0-1 on the season with a WHIP of almost 2 and an ERA over nine. Gonzalez has lost his last two starts against Tampa, and at this price the Rays have plenty of value. The Rays are 15-6 in their last 21 games when playing against a right-handed starter and that includes a stellar 10-3 record on the road. Play the Rays to get the win in this game.
Free Pick: Rays -105
