MLB Trends for Series Starting 6/24 and 6/25
Four games on Monday means a slow start to the Major League Baseball schedule this week, but there are still plenty of intriguing matchups to go around this week. No matchup is better than the Rangers and the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. The headliner will be Tuesday when Yu Darvish and Hiroki Kuroda are the starting pitchers.
Even after being swept by the Rangers at home this past weekend, the Cardinals still have the best record in baseball. The Toronto Blue Jays have won 11 straight games, which has turned the AL East into a massive logjam of very talented teams. The Marlins are on pace for about 110 losses. The two Los Angeles teams just keep disappointing, and they are quickly running out of time.
BangtheBook wants to give baseball bettors some extra information to try to stay ahead of the books this year. This MLB betting article will be done twice a week during the baseball season to give you trends to consider before wagering your money on baseball. Let’s look at trends to consider for series’ this week.
-After starting the season on fire, Matt Moore seems to have hit a brick wall of late. In his last four starts, Moore has an ERA above 10. Tuesday he’ll square off against the red hot Toronto Blue Jays. The Rays are 4-0 in Moore’s last 4 home starts against Toronto.
-The New York Mets are 6-0 in their last 6 games against a left-handed starting pitcher. They’ll face Chris Sale and the White Sox on Tuesday night. Sale is one of the best lefties in the majors, so this will be a heck of a test for the Mets. This should be a really interesting game, since Zach Wheeler will be on the mound for the Mets.
-Few teams have had as much success in interleague play as the Boston Red Sox. Boston is 99-45 in their last 144 interleague games. They are 57-22 in their last 79 interleague home games. The Red Sox are 46-14 in their last 60 interleague home games against a right-handed starter. They’ll face the Rockies this week at Fenway.
-Totals bettors might want to keep an eye on the Indians vs. Orioles game on Tuesday. The under is 4-0 in the Indians last 4 road games. The under is 3-0-1 in the Orioles last 4 home games. Justin Masterson will pitch against Chris Tillman in this matchup.
-Philadelphia has absolutely owned the San Diego Padres in the past few years. The Phillies are 26-6 in their last 32 games in San Diego. They are 41-17 in their last 58 meetings overall against the Padres. San Diego has been playing well lately, but can they figure out how to beat the Phillies?
-The under is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Seattle Mariners. The under is also 5-0 in Joe Saunders’ last 5 starts and he’ll start Tuesday for Seattle. The under is also 8-1 in Jeff Locke’s last 9 starts for Pittsburgh.
-The Texas Rangers are 4-13 in their last 17 meetings with the New York Yankees. They are only 1-8 in their last 9 games at Yankee Stadium. Texas is playing well now, but they’ll have to get over the hump against the Yankees this week.
-The Oakland Athletics are 42-18 in their last 60 home games. Oakland is 86-42 in their last 148 interleague home games. They’ll host the Cincinnati Reds in what should be an interesting interleague series this week.
-The home team is 11-2 in umpire Chris Conroy’s last 13 games behind home plate. Give the home team a look when you see that Conroy will be calling the balls and strikes.
