The Cleveland Cavaliers may be a bit preoccupied when they host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Diamond Sportsbook International (DSI) has the latest NBA sports betting odds and great wagering opportunities for basketball.
The Cavaliers may be distracted in this game although they are hosting the defending Eastern conference champions. Later in the week LeBron James and the Miami Heat will be coming to town and it will be the first time that James is returning to Cleveland. James jumped ship in the off season and joined up with Dwyane Wade and Chirs Bosh to form the new big three in South Beach. When he left the fans and team owner were outraged and this game will mark the first meeting and could start a bitter rivalry.
The Celtics have other problems as they play this game in Cleveland, most notably injuries. Jermaine O’Neal hasn’t played in more than two weeks. Rajon Rondo just returned from a strained hamstring, playing at less than 100 percent Friday night against the Raptors. Delonte West is out indefinitely with a broken wrist. The Celtics seemed un-phased but the recent ailments as they have won three games in a row and are a force in the Eastern conference.
Head Coach Doc Rivers is used to dealing with the injuries as last year the entire starting five suffered an injury and landed on the bench at one time or another. Rivers gave his team the weekend off after Friday’s 110-101 triumph over the Toronto Raptors to rest. Rivers may need to reply on his reserves more than normal beginning with the game in Cleveland.
The Celtics are notorious for their struggles against sub-par teams and they have always had a tough time in Cleveland. The Celtics are 3-8 against the spread (ATS) in the last 11 meetings in Cleveland, but many of those games is when James was a Cavalier. The Celtics will still have a tough time getting pumped up for a game in Cleveland.
The Celtics are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games as a favorite.
The Cavaliers will keep this game closer than the experts think as they get excited for the return of King James.
