NBA Betting Tips Week of March 7th-9th

At Bang the Book.com we like to cater to serious handicappers in every sport and that includes basketball betting.  We provide information that comes in handy now and also could be used in the future. This information should be added to the battery of wagering information that can be gathered from our site on a daily basis.

Of all the information that we provide, one of the most useful items is our weekly NBA basketball betting angles. Not only are these angles something to watch in the current week that we reveal them, but they are also great to keep in mind for the rest of the regular season. This week we looked for an angle that will be in play multiple times leading up to the rest of the week.

NBA Betting Angle: Market Correction

This year in our betting angles article we have often covered teams on the road and how there are many spots to fade a team when they are on the NBA highway. We have also covered other things like injuries, new players on new teams and look-ahead spots, but the market correction is one of the more important articles that we will do all season.

Odds makers always are on the lookout for trends. These trends can define the betting market and until they adjust they trend may continue. The current trend right now is that the sports books are getting crushed by the favorites. This season, a recent run by NBA favorites against the spread suggests there is a widening gap in effort level between teams fighting for playoff position and those in the tank.

The numbers are staggering. Before the games last night, favorites have covered the spread in 56.7 percent of games since the All-Star Break, including an impressive 34-18-3 ATS (65.38 percent) run over the last eight days. That improved last night with several teams winning and covering as chalk. This will cause a market correction where the odds makers will start to increase the point spreads on underdogs. This will start to provide some value to home underdogs with purpose.

Play on Boston on Friday night as underdogs against the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics stood by as Pierce and Garnett took center stage last time they were in Boston, but not this time.

Play on Dallas at home (if they are underdogs) against the Pacers who will be off a very physical game against the Houston Rockets.

This market correction will happen over the next few weeks so keep this in mind when scouring the schedule for underdogs. This is a slow and steady transition and the odds makers always win and if you follow this correction, so will you.
