The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Dallas Mavericks clash this Wednesday night at the America Airlines Center in a showdown between two of the top teams in the Western Conference. The tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. (ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
Oklahoma City’s recent four-game winning streak came to a halt this past Monday night in a 112-100 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers as a two-point road favorite. The loss dropped the Thunder to 16-4 straight-up on the year and 14-9 against the spread, but they still lead Denver in the Northwest Division by two games. They are 8-3 SU (6-5 ATS) on the road this season and the total has gone 5-6 in the 11 games.
The big two in Oklahoma City of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook continue to lead the way with a combined 48.1 points a game, but James Harden has also been a force with 16.4 points and 4.1 rebounds a game. The Thunder are ranked third in the NBA in scoring with an average of 100.4 points a game.
Dallas has posted seven victories in its last 10 games and brings a three-game winning streak into Wednesday night’s game. It leads the Southwest Division with an overall record of 14-8 SU and is also 14-8 ATS. The Mavericks are 9-3 SU and 8-4 ATS at home this season and the total has gone 5-7 in the 12 games.
The Mavs have four players scoring in double figures led by Dirk Nowitzki’s 16.7 points a game. They are averaging 94.7 points a game while shooting 44.2 percent from the field. Dallas’s primary strength remains on the defensive side of the ball where it is ranked fifth in the NBA in points allowed; giving-up an average of 90.6 points a game.
The Thunder are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games. The total has gone ‘over’ in five of their last six conference games.
The Mavericks are 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and the total has gone ‘over’ in their last four games in the conference.
