NBA Finals

The Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics both took very opposite roads to reach the NBA Finals, but starting on Thursday night, the two teams will duke it out in NBA playoff betting action.

The Celtics have been the squad that just keeps on winning regardless of what the odds suggest. They were hefty underdogs to both the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic, but disposed of both teams in six games. F Paul Pierce has averaged 19.1 points per game to lead all men in green in the playoffs. After averaging just 13.7 points per game in the regular season, G Rajon Rondo has stepped up his game and has poured in 16.7 points per game in the playoffs. He also has 170 assists, an average of exactly 10.0 per game against just 3.1 turnovers per night. Three point shooting has been critical, as Pierce, Rondo, G Ray Allen, and F Rasheed Wallace are all shooting at least 39 percent from long range in the playoffs.

When you’re talking about the standard of excellence in the playoffs, you can’t go any further than G Kobe Bryant. Bryant has absolutely been the MVP of the entire postseason regardless of team, as he is averaging 29.4 points per game and is shooting 48.3 percent from the floor. However, he wouldn’t be anywhere without the help of F Pau Gasol, who is averaging a double-double with 20.0 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. G Derek Fisher is coming off of a strong series against the Suns, particularly in victories in Games 5 and 6 when he scored 33 total points and dished out seven assists.

The NBA Finals two seasons ago was won by the Celtics, and in resounding fashion for basketball betting fans, going a perfect 6-0 ATS. With the way that this team is playing defense right now, we think that it is going to take something superhuman from Bryant to cover this type of a number. We’re not ones to normally doubt Kobe, but when push comes to shove, we love Boston’s chances of at least keeping this game incredibly close in what should be the first game of a fantastic series.

According to sources, the babysitter’s claim that the baby suffered injuries after falling off the bed was untrue.
