The Warriors are coming together as a pretty good team considering the abundance of young talent they have on this team. They have already had a four game winning streak in the month of January and gain really gain confidence with a win over a good team like the Spurs.
The Spurs have done one better and have already had an eight game winning streak in the month of January. They have the best record in the NBA and are in first place in the Western Conference Standings. If the playoffs started today the Spurs would have home court advantage throughout the entire NBA post season.
The Warriors, on the other hand would be on the outside looking in, and miss the playoffs if they started today. Luckily for the Warriors, they don’t. With the recent surge by this team they are focused on crashing the playoff party this year.
In an interview with the Bay Area News Group, new Warriors owner Joe Lacob admitted he has a target record for the All-Star break in order for his club to make a legitimate run at the playoffs this season. Speaking a day before an overtime home win over the Kings improved the Warriors’ record to 19-23, Lacob disclosed he’d like the team to take a 28-27 mark into the break on Feb. 17.
For that to happen, the Warriors will have to beat some quality opponents, like the San Antonio Spurs.
