In this Stock Watch article, we are going to break down four teams who should be on your radar list heading into this week of betting on basketball.
On The Rise
After starting the season in the dumpster with a big swoon, they Cleveland Cavaliers have rebounded and are starting o lay good basketball again. They have won four straight headed into the All Star break which should provide momentum heading into the second half of the season. Point guard Kyrie Irving put up 31 points in the All Star game and will be bringing back the MVP trophy to Cleveland. The fans are hoping he can bring a winning streak with it.
The Mavericks made this list last week and they will still stay on the rise as a team to watch in the upcoming week in the NBA. They went from out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference to sitting in the sixth seed with a chance to catch the slumping Portland Trail Blazers. The Mavericks have won 7 of the last ten games overall and they are a whopping 18-8 at home. They start the second half of the season with a big game at home against the defending champion Miami Heat. The Mavericks beat the Indiana Pacers n the road and a win against the heat would prove they could play against the best in the NBA.
On the Decline
The LA Lakers have become a mainstay on the decline list. They are dead last in the Western Conference and have won just 2 of the last 10 games. They are on a three game losing streak and cannot win at home (1-4 against the spread (ATS) in their last 5 home games). They struggle against good teams as they are 9-20-1 ATS in their last 30 games when playing against a team with a winning percentage above .600.
The Milwaukee Bucks are in last place in the Eastern Conference and have given up on the year. They are devastated by injuries and have yet to reach a double digit win total. They are 9-20 against the number following a game in which they actually covered the spread. For the rest of the season, the Bucks are a team to be avoided.
