In this Stock Watch article, we are going to break down four teams who should be on your radar list heading into this week of betting on basketball.
On The Rise
The Phoenix Suns are taking the league by storm as one of the surprise teams in the NBA. They have won six straight games and they play with a nonstop energy that has this team in the sixth spot in the Western Conference. They have won five straight games have captured victory in eight of the last ten games overall. They are getting the job done on the road and in conference and that has made them a solid bet for basketball bettors. The Suns are 20-9-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 30 against the Western Conference and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 road games. The Suns are the team to watch this week and in the future in the NBA.
The Memphis Grizzlies have struggled through the season up to this point but it has been due to some injuries. They may have lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they have won eight of the last ten games and have their sights set on the playoffs. They are just one game behind the Dallas Mavericks and they are a team to watch that will be on the rise.
On the Decline
Portland Trail Blazers
Portland is a very good team and has played well this season, but they need to make adjustments. Their high octane offense has averaged over 100 points this season but opposing defenses are starting to figure it out. The Trail Blazers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. That slide will continue on an East Coast trip until they adjust.
It’s official. The Lakers are currently in tank mode. They are 8-18 straight up on the road and on a six game losing streak. They have lost eight of the last ten and they rarely show up to play. The Lakers are a constant fade on the current road trip on the horizon. The Lakers will most likely trade Pau Gasol in the near future and that will add to the distraction that is a bad Lakers team.
