The LA Lakers are off a humiliating loss at home to the Boston Celtics and are under fire for the way they played in that game. They will look to make up for it with a stellar performance against the Houston Rockets.
The loss to the Celtics was embarrassing for the Lakers because they played with no intensity. The big men lacked a presence down low and Kobe Bryant was forced to take they game over with his shooting and that failed miserably. The Lakers registered a season low of 10 assists and the Celtics dominated on LA’s home floor.
The Rockets have not fared much better of late, losing two straight games, and four of the last six. They will have two days of rest and catch the Lakers in a good position for this game.
The Rockets are 20-9-1 ATS in their last 30 games following a loss of more than 10 points, 11-4 ATS in their last 15 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game, and 7-0 ATS in the last seven games when they play a team from the NBA Pacific division.
The Lakers are 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 against the Western Conference, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5 and 8-21 ATS in their last 29 home games against a team with a losing road record.
The Lakers will still be in hangover mode after the tough loss to the Celtics and will put forth a weak performance allowing the Rockets to keep it close.
