The Big Three of the Miami Heat travel to the desert to take on the new-look Phoenix Suns. Diamond Sportsbook International (DSI) has the NBA covered with the latest odds and wagering opportunities on every game.
The Phoenix Suns are a new look team after a block buster deal that was pulled off over the weekend. The best player on the team is point guard Steve Nash, and although he is not going anywhere, he has plenty of new teammates he will have to adjust too.
Orlando acquired former Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu, swingman Jason Richardson and forward Earl Clark from the Phoenix Suns for guard Vince Carter, center Marcin Gortat, swingman Mickael Pietrus, a 2011 first-round pick and cash. On the surface it may not seem like a trade that is in favor of the Suns. After all they get the ageing Carter who always seems to disappoint in the post season, but the other two pieces will be a nice fit in Phoenix. It will be interesting to see how the team gels as they play a tough stretch to include a game against the Miami Heat that will be televised nationally on TNT.
LeBron James has been highly scrutinized all year long for leaving for the Heat in the off-season. When the team struggled in the early going the critics got much louder. However lately, the critics are quiet, and in fact many supporters have a reason to believe into the Miami Heat hype once again.
The Heat put together 12 straight victories but has to endure a very tough week of basketball on a west coast swing that includes games at Phoenix and at the LA Lakers. The Heat are in first place in the Southeast division and they have no intention of letting the Orlando Magic, or anyone else for that matter, catch up to them.
The Suns are in second place in the Pacific behind the LA Lakers and they hope that the new trade will energize the team and get them headed in the right direction. A win against the Heat would go a long way into making the fans of Phoenix very happy about the trade.
The Heat are 7-15 ATS in their last 22 Thursday games and 7-19-1 ATS in their last 27 games following a loss. The Suns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a road winning percentage of greater than .600.
