The Philadelphia 76ers are winning with a balanced attack on offense, but have had trouble closing games out on the road. They will get another shot to fix their issues when the travel North of the border to take on the Toronto Raptors.
The Sixers are starting to gel as a team mostly due by the improved play of Jrue Holiday who is distributing the ball between superstars, Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala. The biggest problem for the Sixers has been trying to win games on the road. They have a record that is below .500, but they have an excellent record at home at 13-7.
At home they play weel as evident by the recent win against the Utah Jazz. The Sixers handed Utah its fourth straight defeat on the Jazz’s Eastern Conference trip. Philly moved to 12-3 in its last 15 home games after starting out 1-4. The Sixers, who gave up two crushing four-point plays in Wednesday’s overtime loss in Orlando, were aided by a five-point play with 6 1/2 minutes left on an Andre Iguodala 3-pointer and Elton Brand’s tip-in of Iguodala’s free throw. Iguodala led the Sixers with 22 points, while Lou Williams added 20 points. Now the Sixers will need to start winning on the road, and the first stop is Toronto.
The Raptors should be a good place to start for the Sixers as they are having a miserable season. They have a losing record and if the playoffs started today they would miss the NBA post season and be in the lottery. They are 8-12 straight up at home and 15-31-1 against the spread in their last 47 games as a home underdog.
The Sixers get a much needed road win over the floundering Raptors.
