In the second game of the NBA TNT doubleheader the surprising Golden St Warriors will host the Phoenix Suns. Diamond Sportsbook International (DSI) has the latest NBA sports betting for this game and the Warriors are listed as two point favorites with the total set at 229.
All eyes will be on LeBron James and his return to Cleveland, but when that game is finished they should stick around because the late game should be full of great basketball action.
After starting off the season with an impressive record, the Warriors have fallen on hard times. The slide was punctuated by a double digit loss to the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs trounced the Warriors by the final score of 118-98 victory at Oracle Arena, which was also their ninth straight win over Golden State dating back to 2008. This was the Warriors chance to prove that they had taken great strides in the league and could compete with the stronger teams in the league, but instead they fell flat.
The only bright spot for the Warriors is that first-round draft pick Ekpe Udoh is recovering from injury and will be close to making his debut with the team. Their opponent on Thursday, the Phoenix Suns, have also had some problems of late.
The Suns are having problems on the defensive side of the floor. The numbers show that the Suns have the worst defensive field-goal percentage in the NBA. Not to mention they are the worst total rebounding team in the NBA. The Suns can attribute the lack of rebounding to a zone defense that they employ in an attempt to slow down the opposition.
Head coach Alvin Gentry has inspired the team to get more rebounds in the Thursday night clash with the Warriors.
The Suns are 13-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 16 games after allowing more than 125 points in their previous game as they focus on defense the next time they hit the floor. The Suns are 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 road games against a team with a winning home record and they get back on track with sound rebounding and defense against the banged up warriors.
