NBA Stock Watch: Week of November 26th
The NBA season is in full swing and when it comes to handicapping the NBA it is important to know what teams are on the rise and what teams are on the decline. This is why we have the NBA Stock Watch report that we deliver on a weekly basis right here at Bang the Book.com. The NBA Stock Watch reports takes a look at four different teams that are either rising in the league or on the decline from a betting stand point. Armed with this information it can allow the basketball handicapper to take advantage of the hot, and the not so hot teams in the league.
Here is a look at two teams on the Rise and two teams on the decline in the NBA.
Portland Trail Blazers: The Blazers are the surprise team of the year in the early going. They have an amazing 11-4 against the spread record, but what is even more impressive is that they win on the road. The Blazers have covered seven of the last eight games away from the Rose Garden and this makes the Blazers a team to watch in the near future.
New Orleans Pelicans: They may have a dumb name, but this team is not a bad bet. The stock is not up on the Pelicans when it comes to the side, but when it comes to the total. The over is 9-4 this season when the Pelicans play and this is because they do not play any defense. Because of this they often allow the opposition to score over 100 points. The Spurs recently put up 112 against the Pelicans and whenever the birds are on the court, the over deserves a look.
Golden State Warriors: The Golden State Warriors are highly regarded as a team that can contend for the NBA Championship this year. They have a flashy offense that can put points and can score with any team in the league. While this may be true, right now they are struggling. They are riding a three game winning streak and Andrew Bogut will join Andre Iguodala on the sidelines as the Warriors open a four-game road trip Tuesday night. This leaves the Warriors thin on the post and vulnerable against the current schedule. The Warriors are only averaging just over 80 points on the NBA highway and are 6-7-1 ATS this season.
Brooklyn Nets: The Nets are in big trouble and the experiment is not working. Jason Kidd is already on the hot seat and although they have star players they have just three wins. They are 4-9 against the spread overall and just 2-6 against the number when they hit the road. Between injuries and the fact that this team is not jelling, the stock is way down on the Brooklyn Nets.
