Here is a look at a betting angle that comes into play this week.
This is a holiday week and like many people, the Thanksgiving holiday wreaks havoc with a regular schedule. The NBA schedule is an 82 game grind and it is easy for players to get into a routine. With the holiday that regular schedule goes out the window. This opens up plenty of betting angles for the smart handicapper.
On Wednesday night, the day before Thanksgiving, road teams are at a disadvantage. They are concerned with getting the game over and traveling for the holidays and are not fully focused on the game at hand. This can cause some road teams to fall flat on the road before the holiday. There are 13 games on tap for Wednesday night, but the focus for this angle is to look for a team that plays on the road on Wednesday, but head home for their next game.
The Atlanta Hawks are on the road against the Houston Rockets but their next game is at home against the Dallas Mavericks. This means that they will be home for Thanksgiving. Look for the Hawks to go through the motions in this game and lose badly as they will be focused on heading home. (Play against Hawks vs. Rockets).
The same thing can be said for the team that goes on the road after the holiday. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be at home against the Miami Heat in a big game against LeBron James before Thanksgiving. Then after a full day of feasting with family they will have to quickly go on the road to play the Boston Celtics. This is a letdown spot for the Cavs who will be hung over from LeBron and Turkey and will be primed for a big loss. (Play against Cleveland vs. Boston)
The holiday week is a travel nightmare for everyone and that includes NBA teams. However for the basketball handicapper it could provide plenty of betting angles that will provide more cash to stuff your pockets with!
Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here at bang the Book.com!
