NBA Weekly Betting Tips: Jan 10th-12th
At Bang the Book.com we take care of the basketball handicappers by doing research on a regular basis and providing top notch information. This information should be added to the arsenal of wagering advice that can be gathered from our site on a daily basis. One of the things that we do on a weekly basis is discover NBA weekly basketball betting angles. Not only are these angles something to watch in the current week that we reveal them, but they are also great to keep in mind for the rest of the regular season. Sometimes the betting angles are elaborate and sometimes they are very simple, but one thing that is certain is that they are winning angles that every handicapper should consider before wagering on basketball.
This week we look at a very simple betting angle that handicappers often overlook; good road teams.
Betting on good road teams as underdogs: The NBA season is long and it is a grind. With this in mind it is easy to understand why a team would overlook playing games on the road. Especially if a certain team is playing against a weaker opponent or they are playing in an undesirable location. Some of the teams on the list may surprise you.
Washington Wizards: The Wizards are actually playing very well on the road at the moment. The Wizards are 7-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last eight road games as they head into a Friday night game against the Indiana Pacers. The Wizards will be an underdog in this game and in the game next Monday night against the Chicago Bulls. This will be a good time to back the Wizards.
Phoenix Suns: The Suns are a surprise team this year and they are playing very good basketball. After a big win on the road against Minnesota, they will be on the road once again when they tip off against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. The Suns are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 road games and will be a good play as an underdog in this spot. In fact, the Suns are also a play when they travel to play the New York Knicks on Monday night since the Knicks are awful in Madison Square Garden this year to include losers of four of five against the spread.
This may seem like a simple angle, but consider this. Many handicappers will bet on home teams all the time and avoid road teams at all costs. This should not be the case. Every team on any given night should be considered and if you like to bet home teams, then good road teams should be something that you are fully aware of.
