NCAA Basketball Betting Trends- Nov. 12th to Nov. 16th Matchups

The first full week of a brand new college basketball season has quite a few interesting matchups on the schedule. This past weekend most Division I teams kicked off their regular season schedule and the action among the top teams in the nation went pretty much according to plan. Each and every week of the season up until the conference championships in early March, NCAA Basketball Betting Trends will go through the schedule to highlight some of the biggest and best matchups on tap.

The biggest game of the week takes place this Tuesday night with No. 2 Michigan State squaring off against No. 1 Kentucky at the United Center in Chicago in the first game of the State Farms Champions Classic. The Spartans crushed McNeese State 98-56 in last Friday’s season opener while the Wildcats made short work of both UNC-Ashville (89-57) and Northern Kentucky (93-63) in a busy first weekend of games.

The second game in Tuesday’s Champions Classic is another matchup between Top 5 teams with No. 5 Kansas facing off against No. 4 Duke in a 9:30 p.m. tip. The Jayhawks opened their season with an 80-63 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Friday night. The Blue Devils were also in action last Friday and they came away with a 111-77 win over Davidson in a wild one.

This Wednesday night the only Top 25 team in action is No. 19 Oregon at home against Western Carolina. The Ducks started their 2013/2014 campaign with solid 82-75 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas, out of the reshuffled Big East. Western Carolina started things off on a winning note with a 77-55 romp over Wittenberg. The Catamounts will face UNC-Ashville this Monday before heading out west for Wednesday night’s game.

There will be four ranked teams in action on Thursday night with the featured matchup being No. 6 Arizona on the road against San Diego State. The Wildcats got past the Cal Poly Mustangs 73-62 in their season opener and they will face Long Beach State at home on Monday before Thursday’s contest. The Aztecs opened their season with a 77-41 victory over UC Riverside this past Friday.

Three of the top five teams in the nation will be in action on Friday night starting with the defending national champion Louisville Cardinals at home against Cornell in a 7 p.m. tip. The Cardinals came into this season ranked No. 3 in both major polls. They quickly moved to 1-0 with a 70-48 victory over the Charleston Cougars this past Saturday. Louisville’s next game is against Hofstra at home this Tuesday night. The other two top-five teams taking the court this Friday night is Duke at home against Florida Atlantic and Michigan State at home against Columbia.
