New York Yankees at Cleveland Indians 4/28
MLB Betting Preview
New York Yankees (13-13) at Cleveland Indians (12-13)
Monday, 7:05 pm Eastern – ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: Yankees -110 , Total 10.5 Flat
The New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians will conclude their four game series on Monday with Mike Mussina facing Aaron Laffey. The Yankees finally got a win in the series on Sunday as Chien-Ming Wang, Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera combined on a four-hitter as New York won 1-0. It probably won’t be a 1-0 game on Monday considering Mussina is pitching for New York. He is 2-3 on the season with an ERA of 4.94. He did pitch well in his last start though, giving up two runs and four hits in seven innings at Chicago in a 6-4 win. “People have always doubted me,” Mussina said. “If you throw bad games, they doubt you. That’s part of it when you’re past 35 years old. Every time you step on a mound and give up two hits in an inning, that’s just how it is. I’m just glad I’m still able to go out there and pitch.”
SBG Global reports that early MLB betting has the public taking Yankees on the Road.
The Yankees will be missing All-Star catcher Jorge Posada who was put on the DL Sunday with an arm problem. “We have to be smart about it,” Posada said. “It’s not getting any better. The MRI shows a strained muscle, but I think it’s more than that. I want to really find out what it is.”
Cleveland was missing their All-Star center fielder Grady Sizemore on Sunday as he missed the game with an ankle injury. It broke the longest current streak in baseball of consecutive games played at 382. He may not play on Monday either. The Indians will be starting Aaron Laffey on Monday. It is his first start of the season. Last year he went 4-2 with a 4.56 ERA in nine starts.
