NFL Betting Injury Report Week 6
NFL Injuries: Robert Griffin III and Updates
Injuries are common place and they happen week-to-week in the NFL and depending on the player, the injuries can change the face of a team. IN week 5 there were several injuries that made headlines and could easily affect the outcomes of games for Week 6. The injury that grabbed more attention than the injury to Redskin quarterback Robert Griffin III.
It had to happen sooner or later. Redskin’s rookie QB RG3 plays with a youthful enthusiasm and attacks every play with a hard nose effort. Running the ball is common place in the NFL, but most veterans know when to slide or get out of bounds. On Sunday RG3 attempted to slide but failed to go out of bounds and the end result was vicious blow to the end that had him removed from the game.
Griffin exited the game to get stitches in his chin. The training staff conducted concussion tests on the sidelines/in the locker room and determined that he had suffered a ‘mild’ concussion, and Griffin didn’t return to action – further evaluations will be conducted during the week. Griffin reportedly couldn’t remember what quarter it was after his injury, so some memory loss was a part of this injury. The Redskins back up is another rookie in Kirk Cousins and if Griffin misses a lot of time in recovery or safety precautions, the team could be in trouble.
RG3 was not the only big name to get banged up in Week 5.
Adrian Peterson said after the Week 5 game against the Tennessee Titans that he injured his ankle on the first of his 17 carries. He should be fine and is expected to play in Week 6.
Saints Tight End Jimmy Graham left the locker room after Week 5 wearing a walking boot on his right foot. Saints interim head coach Aaron Kromer said he is uncertain regarding the extent of Graham’s ankle injury.
Keep an eye on the injury report in days to come to see the status of all the players unfortunate enough to make the injury list.
