NFL Betting Strategies: Throwing in the Towel

It is the point in the NFL season where certain teams are just waiting for the season to wind down so they can get it over with. Several of these teams were on display in Week 15 and if a handicapper can point them out it will turn into a big payday into the future.

NFL Betting Strategies: Throwing in the TowelFinding these teams is not always easy as sometimes a team you think will fall flat will surprise and play well. For example the Arizona Cardinals seemed like they had given up on the season after getting destroyed in Seattle a week earlier. However they responded with a resounding win over the Detroit Lions in week 15. This could be in response to the blowout victory the week before or it could be the fact that they were at home, but they clearly did not give up on the season. That same thing cannot be said for some of the other teams that took to the field last week.

The Kansas City Chiefs played a rivalry game against the Oakland Raiders and they should not have even bothered to show up to the game. There is a very good chance that by the end of the season the Chiefs will have a different quarterback and head coach. They played like it on Sunday as they made the Raiders look like Super Bowl contenders. The Raiders had more yards on the first drive in the second half then the Chiefs had all game. They had given up and it was obvious. The same could be said for the San Diego Chargers.

It has already been said that the Chargers will have a new head man after the season was over with. They are not playing for him as they fell flat at home against the Panthers.

This is the time of the year when spotting a team that has given up can turn into big profits for a handicapper, the hard part is finding those teams.
