And it all comes down to this! The Ravens and the 49ers have battled throughout some tough games here in the playoffs for the right to play against each other with the Lombardi Trophy on the line, and only one will leave the Big Easy with the NFL’s biggest prize in tote. The Ravens made it here by taking down one of the best young quarterbacks in football, QB Andrew Luck, and two of the best quarterbacks in the history of the league, both of which are Hall of Famers, QB Peyton Manning and QB Tom Brady. San Francisco had a bit easier of a route, beating up the Green Bay Packers at home and taking down the Atlanta Falcons at the Georgia Dome just to reach this point. This is the first time that a pair of brothers will have coached against each other in the playoffs or in the Super Bowl, as Baltimore’s John Harbaugh and San Francisco’s Jim Harbaugh will be doing the honors against one another. John’s Ravens have the better history in this series, winning the last three games that these two have met. However, the 49ers are a sturdy 2-2 ATS in the four all-time games between these two dating back to the 1996 season when the Ravens moved from Cleveland. Both teams have been hot from an ATS standpoint, as each went perfect both SU and ATS in the second season. The winner of this game is going to be the only team in NFL history to have more than one Super Bowl victory without a single defeat. The Ravens are 1-0 SU and ATS after beating the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV, while the 49ers are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS, beating the Cincinnati Bengals twice, and the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins, and San Diego Chargers once each.
