NFL Betting Trends- Conference Prop Bets
Every major sportsbook in the gaming industry releases its odds for all 32 NFL teams in terms of their chances to win their respective conference, but 5Dimes Sportsbook takes it one step further by offering prop bets for a select number of team’s chances to win it against the field.
This type of wager is an excellent chance to cash-in on some favorable odds if you have a high confidence level for a particular team. The following is a look at a few of the more interesting money lines for a few teams from each conference.
AFC Conference Odds
New England wins the AFC +320
Field wins the AFC -390
Just about every sportsbook has New England as the odds-on-favorite to win the AFC this season and if you are totally convinced that the Patriots are headed back to the Super Bowl then this is a golden opportunity to generate a solid return on a $100 wager. The one thing to keep in mind is that the last time the losing team in the Super Bowl made it back to the big game the following year was the Buffalo Bills in 1994.
Baltimore wins the AFC +750
Field wins the AFC -1165
This could be the best value on the board considering how close Baltimore came to winning the conference last year. A missed field goal proved to be the difference in a loss to New England in the championship game. This will undoubtedly provide the necessary motivation to get over that hump this year for a team that remains one of the most talented in the league.
NFC Conference Odds
Green Bay wins the NFC +315
Field wins the NFC -380
Green Bay is clearly the odds-on-favorite to not only win the NFC this season but the Super Bowl as well. This is a team that is coming off a 15-1 regular season record last season, but still reeling over a stunning loss at home in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Given that the Packers’ roster remains basically intact, they should end-up with one of the top-two seeds in the playoffs. Once there, it is highly unlikely they will let another playoff game at Lambeau slip away.
Dallas wins the NFC +1250
Field wins the NFC -2000
While the Packers are probably the most talented team in the NFC, the conference still remains fairly wide open with a handful of teams having a very legitimate chance of breaking through this season with a run to the title. If you are looking to take a flyer on a team with one of the biggest payouts on the board, then take a close look at Dallas.
The Cowboys’ recent past may not instill a ton of confidence that they can get over the hump, but all you have to do is look at the NFC champions over the past few years. Arizona stunned everyone with its run to the Super Bowl in 2008 and both Green Bay in 2010 and New York last season needed to win their final few regular season games just to get into the playoffs. There is no doubt that Dallas has enough talent to emerge as this season’s NFC champion and you stand to make a tidy profit if you are willing to bet on it.
