The biggest concern for the Arizona Cardinals in previous seasons has been play at the quarterback position, something many fans believed they solved by bringing veteran Carson Palmer to the team.
Despite having a decent signal caller, the offense still failed to succeed rushing the ball, as they finished just 23rd in the league in rushing. That shows just how desperate of a need that the Cardinals have on the offensive line.
This is something that the Cardinals needed to take more seriously in the off season. The Cardinals didn’t re-sign last season’s starting right tackle, Eric Winston, leaving the position up for grabs between Bradley Sowell and Bobby Massie. Instead of grooming a rookie in case Sowell and Massie do not pan out, the Cardinals will sign a free agent or bring back Winston. So without a solid right tackle, the Cardinals had to make a move on the left side.
The left side is the side responsible for keeping Palmer upright. Adding left tackle Jared Veldheer early in free agency solidified a position that has plagued the team for years. He is a top-tier tackle who can protect quarterback Carson Palmer’s blind side, a move that was necessary to keep the veteran Palmer as healthy as possible as the Cardinals make a run for the playoffs.
In fact to this day the Cardinals are still tweaking their offensive line.

The team has showed that they are still interested in upgrading the quarterback position.
The Cardinals have gone as far to have discussions with other teams. Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht told 910 AM in Phoenix that he had conversations with the Cardinals about possibly trading Mike Glennon to Arizona. Glennon would be an understudy to Palmer but it shows that Palmer is only a temporary fix.
The only strong point for this team is the defense, but that is putting a lot on a unit that will face off against other dominant defensive units in the division. Don’t look for the Cardinals to make an amazing run at the end of the season as the schedule will not allow it.
The tail end of the schedule includes games at Seattle, Atlanta, San Francisco and St. Louis in the last six weeks of the season. The Cardinals will not be able to compete and will finish in last place in the division. Looking for more on the Arizona Cardinals Win Totals Prediction, check out Adam Burkes Take!
