NFL Injuries: Top Players Hurting After Week 7

NFL Injuries: Maurice Jones-Drew Injury Makes Matters Worse

Injuries happen all the time in the NFL and some players play through them while other struggle to make it back to the field and eventually sit out for a long time. That happened on Sunday and the injury was very crucial to the hopes of the entire team.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were playing the Raiders and became one of the few underdogs to cover on the day but it came out a costly price.  Superstar running back Maurice Jones-Drew left with an injury. The Jaguars lost Jones-Drew to a left foot injury on the opening drive and it looks like they will lose him for a long period of time. Jones-Drew returned on crutches and this was only the second injury to hurt the Jags.

Blaine Gabbert to an injured left shoulder in the second quarter and managed only two first downs after halftime behind backup quarterback Chad Henne. The Jaguars were one of the worst teams in the NFL and they just got worse. This will make it nearly impossible for football bettors to take the Jaguars without a very big spread. The Jags have a big game at Green Bay on deck and the line will undoubtedly be double-digits.

Injuries on Sunday affected other teams as the Redskins lost their star tight end Fred Davis. Tight end Chris Cooley reportedly will re-sign with the Washington Redskins, helping to fill a void left from Davis’ season-ending Achilles injury suffered Sunday in a loss to the Giants. This injury will not be on the headlines but it could change the way Robert Griffin III and the Redskins play offense and making them an interesting wager option in weeks to come.

Some injuries are bigger than others but all of the injuries on the injury report should be looked at before placing a wager.
