NFL Lock of the week – Week 9

NFL Lock of the week - Week 9The NFL Lock for this week is in the AFC East

The word “lock” is not always used freely in the sports betting world. It signifies the best game of the week and the best bet on the board. This essentially is a football wager that simply cannot lose. Most bettors try to dodge this moniker because they believe it is a jinx and could actually cause a bet to lose, but I disagree and feel that it is just a way to identify the best bet of the week, and this week it’s in the AFC East.

The lock of the week is the game between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills. This game is now a must win for the New York Jets who are stumbling through the first half of the season. They are losing winnable games and if they lose this game, they will be behind both Buffalo and the New England Patriots in the standings and will be in danger of missing the playoffs.

The Jets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games when playing a team with a winning home record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. This is a big concern for Gang Green. The Bills have a slew of trends in their favor.

The Bills are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games as a home favorite of 0.5-3.0, 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 games in November, and are a home favorite with great value. The Bills are starting to pay all of their superstars to include quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and running back Fred Jackson. Players that get paid are very happy and that will reflect on the field.

The Jets are going backward and are not getting any help from inconsistent play on offense. The Jets will fall flat in Buffalo as the Bills take down the Jets. The Buffalo Bills are the lock of the week in week nine.
