The NFL is filled with parody. On any given Sunday any team can beat one another. This is true again in week four where a few underdogs have the ability to take a bite out of their opposition. One team that has a very good chance to win is the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals host the Buffalo Bills this week in a home game. Here are a few reasons the Bengals can pull off the upset.
The Bills are off a huge win against the New England Patriots. This win was very powerful for the Bills and their franchise. The New England Patriots had owned the series against Buffalo and bullied the Bills for years. So it’s natural to think that the Bills will have some letdown as they travel to play the Bengals. This happened in week one when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers were the rivals for the Ravens and after a win like that; the Ravens went on the road against a sub-par team and were soundly beaten. The Bills will suffer the same fate.
Football betting fans are incredibly reactionary. They overreact to the last week and this week was no different. After beating the Patriots, the Bills had to be established as a road favorite. Buffalo has a road favorite? Yeah it doesn’t sound right, because they should not be favored in this game. They are giving 3.5 points in several outs at offshore sportsbooks. That means the Bills are 6 points better than the Bengals. That is not even close to the truth and the Bengals can beat the Bills.
So far on the season the Bengals have a top three defense in the league. That is impressive considering the defense is made up of unfamiliar names. Rookie quarterback Andy Dalton is playing very well and can move this offense. The Bills secondary will be stretched thin this week as they try to attempt the weapons that the Bengals bring to the field.
The Bengals are 5-0 ATS in their last five against the AFC and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as an underdog of 3.5-10.0. The points won’t be needed as the Bengals win outright and give the Bills their first loss of the season.
