NFL Upset of the Week – Week 6

Cleveland Browns to Upset the Cincinnati Bengals

This week the NFL schedule has plenty of games that have the opportunity of being close, so plenty of underdogs have the opportunity to bit e and pull off the upset. One of those teams is the Cleveland Browns who find themselves one-point underdogs at home to the Cincinnati Bengals.

One looking for a lively underdog in the NFL, one angle to always keep an eye on is the home divisional underdog. Divisional underdogs are always worth a look because divisional games are the most important on the schedule since a team that wins their division will make the playoffs regardless of their record.

The Bengals are a very good up-and-coming team, with Andy Dalton at quarterback and AJ Green emerging as a superstar at wide receiver. What people fail to realize is that despite all that talent the Bengals are just 3-8-3 against the spread (ATS) in their last 14 games overall. In fact this is a tough game for the road team when it comes to sports betting trends.

The Bengals are 1-8-2 ATS in their last 11 against an AFC opponent, 0-4-3 ATS in their last 7 games following a loss, and 0-5-2 ATS in their last 7 against the AFC North.

For the Cleveland Browns and rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden, it is a different story. They offense for the Browns is starting to produce behind the running of rookie back Trent Richardson as evident by the outburst against the defensive minded Giants.

The Browns are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a loss, 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 when playing the AFC North and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

The Browns have been very successful covering the spread in division play and the underdog is 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings. The Browns beat the Bengals in the upset of the week.
