NFL Week 17 Odds: Numbers For Last Week of the Season
The last week of the NFL regular season is here and the odds for Week 17 have been released. The sharp bettors and professional handicappers eagerly awaited the odds so they could place bets based on line value. Here is a look at the opening numbers and some changes for the lines for NFL Week 17.
The Sunday night football game of the week between the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins is easily the biggest game of the week. The game will be played with a winner take all feel to it, as the winner of the game will be the NFC East Champions.
The betting line opened with the Redskins as -3.5 point favorites and that line has dropped to minus three in many locations making it an even key number. Since this will be the last regular season game of the year and on national television, look for a line move as kickoff gets closer.
There are several double-digit favorites heading into week 17. The New England Patriots are still in the race for a top seed in the AFC playoffs and host the Miami Dolphins. The Patriots are elven point favorites and the number has actually dipped to -10 in many locations. This number could easily adjust if the Patriots don’t have a chance to improve their standings in the playoffs.
The Minnesota Vikings host the Green Bay Packers and they are in desperate need of a win to cement their playoff plans. Although the Vikings are off an impressive road win against the Houston Texans, they are still listed as three point underdogs when the Week 17 line was given out by sportsbooks.
With playoff implications on the line these lines are worth monitoring leading up to game day as they could easily change.
