NHL Playoff Preview – The Coyotes Try to Fight Back on the Road
To say that the first two games of the Western Conference Finals did not go exactly as the Phoenix Coyotes had planned would be an understatement. The first two games were in Phoenix and the Kings now lead the series 2-0. What makes matters worse is that Phoenix has been outscored in this series 8-2. The best online sportsbook experts know that getting shut out in your own building is bad. But getting shut out in your own building in the playoffs is even worse. The Coyotes are on the ropes and it needs to strike back quickly in Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles Kings just keep playing its style of hockey and the frustration is showing with the Coyotes. When you get your opponent more interested in delivering illegal bodychecks out of frustration than in scoring goals, then you have accomplished something. The Coyotes were so frustrated in game two that they were deliberately trying to injure top Kings’ players such as Dustin Brown. But the Expert Sports Handicappers see that the Kings will not be intimidated and Los Angeles continues to play its game. That calm demeanor in the face of an opponent that is trying to intimidate is what will win the Kings this series.
The Coyotes are in an interesting situation. The dirty play in game two should cause Phoenix to bench the players involved to try and get the other players interested in winning the game instead of seeking revenge. But the Coyotes need the muscle on the ice to try and combat the aggressive play of the Kings. The sports experts can see this series ending in four games if the Coyotes cannot regain control of itself and start playing some hockey. If the Coyotes continue to go headhunting, it will lose this series in four games. It is up to Coyotes’ head coach Dave Tippett to get his troops under control and get them back to playing hockey.
Los Angeles Kings
NHL veterans say that the playoffs can often bring out the best in a team. The Kings came into the playoffs as the number eight seed in the Western Conference, but Los Angeles is playing like the best team in hockey right now. The player that is really helping the Los Angeles cause is goaltender Jonathan Quick. Online betting USA hockey fans in Los Angeles have known about Quick for some time now. But the rest of the hockey world is just starting to see what he can really do. With players like Mike Richards and Dustin Brown producing points, it is hard to find a weakness in the Kings’ game.
The Bottom Line
Getting frustrated because you cannot beat a team is understandable. But in the playoffs, you need to maintain your composure if you want to win the Stanley Cup. The Los Angeles Kings are giving the impression that they can absorb anything that the Phoenix Coyotes throw at it and still focus on winning the hockey game. The Coyotes are proving that it cannot maintain focus when it is frustrated. That level of concentration that the Kings have on display is what could very well push the Kings right to a Stanley Cup championship. There appears to be little that the Coyotes can do to stop the Kings.
