Two of the most hated rivals in football betting action will meet on Sunday afternoon at Mile High, where the Denver Broncos will face off with the Oakland Raiders.
Oakland has had all sorts of success in this series over the course of the last few years, and all of it really spurns around the offense. Even though this is a team that has historically struggled quite a bit on the offensive side of the ball, and the Raiders have been through a ton of quarterbacks, they just keep scoring big time points against the Broncos. This year, it’s QB Carson Palmer that has been the big time star for the Raiders, throwing for 879 yards and five scores. TE Brandon Myers is going to be out of the fold for this one, and WR Darrius Heyward-Bey is out as well. That’s going to put a lot of pressure on RB Darren McFadden who, if you take out a 64-yard touchdown run has a total of 103 yards on 43 carries this year. That just won’t cut it no matter who the foe is, especially knowing that there just isn’t a backup to help Run DMC out like he had when he RB Michael Bush.
QB Peyton Manning had his first 300+ yard game over the course of his Broncos career last week against the Houston Texans, and now, he has the most 300-yard passing games ever in NFL history. Of course, he probably would have much rather had the win against Houston, and now he knows that he really has to win this game, or there are going to be some problems going forward in the second quarter of the season. This is already the third home game this year for the Broncos, and a third overall loss could be disastrous. RB Willis McGahee is one of the many up in the air right now for Denver, joining other important players like DB Tracy Porter and TE Jacob Tamme. We know that LB Joe Mays won’t be playing though, as he was suspended for a hit on QB Matt Schaub that caused him to lose a piece of his ear.
We have a hard time seeing how the Broncos are going to lose this game and drop to 1-3, but we also really realize how sharp the Raiders seem to be. We’ll stick with that latter thought, knowing that Oakland has taken four in a row both SU and ATS here at Mile High. Oakland 27 – Denver 26
