Opening Odds College Football Week 5

It is never too early to take a look at the college football odds, and here at Bang the Book we like to get a look at the odds the moment they are released. The reason for the early look is to get the numbers when they are fresh before they are bet up by the pros and lose their value.

Here is a look at several games on the college football schedule for week 5 that have value.

Washington +7 Over Stanford

The earliest game of the week is a Pac-12 tilt that will take place on Thursday night. The Stanford Cardinal is seven point favorites after they beat USC in a stunning upset. Now the Cardinal is an inflated favorite due to that win and there is value with the home dog on national television.

Michigan State -2.5 over Ohio State

The Spartans come into this game well-rested and ready to rebound after losing a big home game. Ohio State is on the way to becoming a national powerhouse in football once again, but they are struggling to play a full 60 minutes. The sharps will pound this home team while the public will pound the popular road team so get this number before it moves to 3.

Southern Miss +11 over Louisville

The Louisville Cardinals are having a great season so far and they are ranked nationally. This week they face a Southern Miss team that is flying under the radar. Coach Charlie Strong has the Cardinals heading in the right direction, but they have problems starting strong. The Cardinals will be looking past this game to a Big East matchup with Pittsburgh in its third straight road game. Get the value and the home dog in this game.

These are just a few games that are worth an early wager in week five of the college football season. Check out the lines as soon as they are released to get the best bets on the board before the line moves.
