The Colorado Rockies and the San Diego Padres have already engaged in two all our wars in this series in the first full week of June. The two will go at it again on Saturday night in MLB betting action at Coors Field.

Run production hasn’t been a problem for the Padres in this series, as they have 15 runs scored in just two games. They have scored at least six runs in four in a row, though it has to be disappointing that they are just 2-2 in those four games. LHP Eric Stults is going to be getting the baseball on Saturday night for Manager Bud Black, who has been thrilled with what Stults has given him of late. These last two starts have been fantastic for Stults, as he has allowed just a total of three runs in 15 innings of work, conceding nine hits without walking a batter, and he has struck out 15. That’s the type of work that is going to make him a winning pitcher when push comes to shove. Thus far this year though, Stults is only 4-5 with a 3.74 ERA. He has deserved a heck of a lot better from his teammates, but he has gone five straight starts with three runs or fewer of support, and it’s a miracle that he even has led the team to a 2-3 record in those games.

The Rockies have scored 15 runs in the last two games of this series as well, and they now have 27 runs in their last three games and 32 in their last four. The difference though, is that they are throwing a man who has been a gas can all season long to the wolves on Saturday night. Perhaps this will be the game when LHP Jeff Francis turns things around. If he doesn’t though, it is going to be another long night for a bullpen that has thrown a bunch of innings over the course of the last three days. Francis is making his first start off of the disabled list, as he suffered a groin injury in the middle of May which he is just starting to come back from. Prior to that though, the southpaw was just 2-3 with a 6.00 ERA, and his pitching was every bit as bad as his stats suggested, if not worse.

Why not another ‘over’ contest? With the way that these two are playing, it almost seems inevitable that there are going to be at least 10 runs put on the board, and if that turns out to be the case, there’s a good chance that this one is going to exceed the number.

San Diego Padres @ Colorado Rockies Pick: Over 10
