Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles
Sunday, 4:15 pm Eastern – CBS
SBG Global Opening Line: Eagles – 3 , Total 45
The marquee game on Sunday afternoon in the NFL has the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers. The battle of Pennsylvania should be an excellent one as the unbeaten Steelers face the 1-1 Eagles. Philadelphia looked good last week but couldn’t get enough defensive stops to get the win against Dallas while Pittsburgh just got by Cleveland. The Steelers have concerns over quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who has a sprained shoulder although “Big Ben” has been exceptional so far this season, ranking as the NFL’s highest rated passer through the first two weeks. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Eagles at Home.
The good news for Pittsburgh is that Willie Parker has gone over 100 yards in each of his first two games and he takes the pressure off of Roethlisberger. On the other side of the ball the Eagles are getting great play out of quarterback Donovan McNabb. He is 46-for-70 for 642 yards, and has thrown four touchdowns this season. Many of those passes have gone to rookie DeSean Jackson who is the second player in NFL history to go over 100 yards receiving in his first two games.
Even though Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are in the same state they have not met at Philadelphia since 1997. Pittsburgh has not won at Philadelphia since 1965, losing seven straight. Here are more NFL betting stats for Sunday’s game. The Steelers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
