Pointspread: Denver -3

San Antonio is clinging to a one-game lead over Oklahoma City for the top spot in the Western Conference, but reeling a bit with a 2-3 record both straight-up and against the spread in its last five outings. The Spurs have been costly to wager on lately with a 2-7 record ATS in their last nine games with the total staying UNDER in six of those contests.

The good news for Wednesday night could be the return of Tony Parker, who leads the team in scoring with 20.6 points a game. His presence could be huge considering that the Spurs will be without Manu Ginobilli (11.9 points) until possibly the start of the playoffs as he is nursing a strained right hamstring. Overall, San Antonio is ranked fourth in the league in scoring with an average of 103.5 points a game while shooting an impressive 48.4 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from three-point range.

The Denver Nuggets have been on fire down the stretch with a four-game winning streak that is part of a 19-2 SU run dating all the way back to late February. They have also provided a nice return with a 15-5-1 record ATS during this stretch of games. The total has stayed UNDER in six of their last eight games.

A bit of water was doused on those flames when Danilo Gallinari was lost for the season with a torn ACL. Denver’s other leading scorer Ty Lawson is already out of the lineup with an injured foot. While these two accounted for over 32 points a game, this team has a bench filled with guys that can score including six that are averaging over nine points a game. The Nuggets are ranked third in the NBA in scoring with 105.9 points a game, but they are giving-up an average of 101 points on the other end of the court.

The home team in this series is 7-2 SU in the last nine meetings while the road team is 15-3 ATS in the last 18 games between the two. Stick with these trends all this way in Wednesday night’s matchup as Denver picks up the SU win, but the Spurs cover with the points in a tight one.

Denver 106     San Antonio 104
