Game Overview

A pair of NFC teams that are competing for playoff spots this year will meet up in NFL betting action at Soldier Field, as the Seattle Seahawks face the Chicago Bears.

The Seahawks are still hanging on to that last playoff spot in the NFC right now, as they are tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Minnesota Vikings for the No. 6 seed at 6-5. They’ve had themselves quite the long week, as they have had to travel all the way back from Miami, where a game against the Miami Dolphins was lost, and they now have to go from Seattle back to Chicago in a second very long road trip. This is a winnable game though, knowing that these teams play an awfully similar style of football. QB Russell Wilson’s job is to not screw things up, and Head Coach Pete Carroll really doesn’t let him throw the ball all that much. The man they call “Beast Mode,” RB Marshawn Lynch already has 231 carries this year, and though he only has five touchdowns, he does have 1,051 yards to help out his team’s cause.

WR Brandon Marshall should be salivating right now. Both of Seattle’s corners were busted for drugs over the course of the week, and both should be sitting this one out. If that’s the case, there is no doubt that he should have another bananas game where he catches some outrageous number of passes and probably finds the end zone at least once or twice. QB Jay Cutler knows that he is going to have to rely more on his receivers in this game thanks to the fact that RB Matt Forte is probably going to be sitting this one out injured. RB Michael Bush is a great replacement back to have, and we saw that last year when he nearly rushed for 1,000 yards in place of the injured RB Darren McFadden, but he isn’t the same type of back that Forte is. That’s also going to put the pressure on this fantastic defense to continue to put on the pressure, especially versus a team that doesn’t make all that many mistakes.

Prediction

There have been three games played at this venue in the last 26 months between these two teams, and the results have been very mixed. The Seahawks won the two regular season meetings against the Bears, but the one time that they met in the playoffs, it was all Chicago. The whole world thinks that the Bears are going to run away with this one, but we think that this is going to be one of these games that comes right down to the wire and could ultimately go either way. Take the points. Chicago 23 – Seattle 21
