On Monday night college basketball betting will get going when the Maryland Terrapins play host to the Syracuse Orange at 7:00 ET on ESPN inside the Comcast Center.

The Orange suffered their second consecutive loss of the season Saturday night when the Duke Blue Devils took them out 66-60 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. It was a controversial ending as head coach Jim Boeheim was ejected when a call didn’t go Syracuse’s way with 10 seconds to go in the game. While the Orange feel robbed, they must regroup quickly to reclaim a No. 1 ranking they lost this week. Syracuse did everything right to stay in the game against Duke as F Jerami Grant led the way with 17 points and eight rebounds in the loss. Senior F C.J. Fair added 12 points and seven rebounds, but was called for a charge late in the game as he made what would have been the tying layup. Fair averages 16.6 points and 6.0 boards per game thus far. Syracuse suffered its first road loss of the season on Saturday and is 5-1-1 ATS on the road this season. A seventh ranked defense that allows just 58.7 points per game should help the Orange rebound from a tough loss on Monday night. The trick will be to get Fair and the offense that scores just 69.2 points per game going on the road at Maryland.

The Terrapins got a win on Tuesday night as they beat the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 71-60 at home. Maryland G Nick Faust came off the bench and scored a career high 20 points while grabbing five rebounds in the win. Four of the five starters for the Terps registered double-figures led by 12 points and seven boards from C Charles Mitchell. The Terrapins are 0-3 SU against ranked teams this season as their most recent loss was a close call 69-67 to Duke last Monday. Maryland is currently trying to climb up the ACC standings as it stands at 7-7 SU in conference play. The home floor has been kind to the Terps as they are 10-3 SU and 5-4 ATS at home this season. Leading scorer G Dezmine Wells will need to step up for the Terrapins as he scored just six points in his last game. He averages 14.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, but may need to put out a better effort against Syracuse.

Prediction:

Syracuse will be anxious to get out on the floor Monday as it has to be extremely frustrated with how the last minute of the game at Duke unfolded. We expect to see a rejuvenated group of Orange that will take out their frustrations on the Terrapins. Look for Fair and his teammates to jump out on the Terps early and blow them off their home floor. Syracuse is going to come out motivated and we don’t think it will have a problem dispatching of a weak Maryland squad. Syracuse 75- Maryland 65
