The Duke Blue Devils and the North Carolina Tarheels own one of the most hated rivalries in all of sports and they will take to the court to do battle again this Wednesday night in Durham, N.C. Both schools rank in the Top 5 in all-time wins in NCAA Basketball and have a combined 7 National Titles among them as well. These two ACC opponents have played in games year after year with Conference and National Title hopes and it has brewed into one of the most exciting college basketball spectacles in the country. The two schools meet up again this Wednesday night in a tie for first place in the ACC in one of the most highly anticipated match-ups of the season when the Duke Blue Devils host the North Carolina Tarheels on Wednesday.
The no. 10 Clemson Tigers will host the No. 4 Duke Blue Devils inside Little John Coliseum on Wednesday night in a battle of top ten teams with conference implications on the line. The Blue Devils sit a top the standings in the ACC with a 5-1 record while the Tigers are a game behind at 4-2 and can not afford to fall behind anymore if they want to make a run at a possible conference title. While many believe that Clemson does not have the firepower to keep up with the North Carolina, Wake Forest, and Duke’s of the conference, the Tigers will be trying to prove everyone wrong and surprise the nation on Wednesday night. Duke on the other hand was knocked off the number 1 ranking exactly one week ago when they fell to Wake Forest in the closing seconds of the game and they will try to avoid anymore disappointing losses.
The new top ranked team in the nation the Duke Blue Devils take to the road to battle the former top ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Blue Devils have knocked off 10 straight victories since their only loss this season to Michigan. Duke is fresh off an absurd blowout over Maryland on Saturday when the Blue Devils took down the victory in a big way 85-44, but things promise to be much tougher this Wednesday night. Wake Forest got off to a 16-0 start and the No. 1 with some big wins over Clemson and North Carolina, but stumbled last Wednesday night losing to Virginia Tech 78-71. The Demon Deacons will try to get back on track in what would be a huge statement that they are still among America’s best if they can knock off top ranked Duke.
