SEC bubble teams are going to meet up for NCAA basketball betting action on Tuesday night in the Show-Me State, where the Missouri Tigers will look to exact some revenge for a tough loss suffered earlier in the year at the hands of the Arkansas Razorbacks.
The SEC has been dominant in college football over the last few years, but there is no way to escape the truth that this conference is way down in college basketball right now. Georgia struggled to win in their non-conference schedule, and their relative strength inside the conference is a sign of the league’s weakness. Arkansas has been awful on the road and nearly unbeatable at home. Let’s take a closer look at this SEC battle.
The Florida Gators are starting to turn some heads with their dominance of the SEC. The Gators are up to second in the college basketball rankings, and they are getting quite a few votes for the number one spot. No one in the SEC has even been much of a challenge for the Gators, but Arkansas will look to change that on Tuesday night. Let’s take a look at this SEC matchup.
The Big East/SEC Challenge continues on Friday night from Fayetteville, where the Arkansas Razorbacks will play host to the Syracuse Orange in one of the showcase games of the tournament.
The ‘Cuse are headed for another remarkable season this year, and Head Coach Jim Boeheim should be commended for the way that he just continues to reload this program and never has to rebuild.
Before the season, many expected this to be a game that would play a role in deciding the national champion. As it turns out, Arkansas has completely fallen apart this year, and LSU lost to both Florida and Alabama in SEC play. The game doesn’t mean as much nationally, but these teams still hate each other and you can expect both teams to fight very hard for a victory.
Arkansas expected to be in the national title picture this year, but everything went wrong in the offseason and that has continued right through the season. John L. Smith has become one of the least popular men in Arkansas, and the team is now 4-5. South Carolina has fallen on some hard times of late, but they are still 7-2 and ranked eighth in the nation. Steve Spurrier’s team looks to pick up another win this Saturday.
After two weeks of action, Alabama has clearly established itself as a serious threat to win a second-straight national championship this season. It destroyed Michigan 41-14 on opening day as a 13-point favorite and cruised to a 35-0 win over Western Kentucky as a 38-point home favorite last week. While defense continues to be the backbone of this team, the offense has put up 76 points behind a very balanced attack of running and throwing the ball, which is sort of a twist for this team.
