New Orleans is in the top spot, but the Falcons have completely fallen apart this year. Injuries and a lack of execution have led to the undoing of the once mighty Falcons. New Orleans needs another win to stay in front in the NFC South. Can the Falcons put up a fight at home on Thursday night?

Week 7 of the NFL season is here! With all of the games on the docket each and every week, we are going to be zeroing in on just one side or total that we think is the best of the bunch. It’s Monday night, and that means that there is just one more game with which to handicap on the NFL card. The Atlanta Falcons will play host to the New York Jets in this edition of Monday Night Football, and we have some great MNF props covered so you can find an alternative way to beat the NFL betting lines in this one.
You could have made some money betting people that the Jets would be 2-2 straight-up after their first four games but that has been the case. Last Sunday they reverted back to their old form in a 38-13 loss to Tennessee as 3.5-point road underdogs, but they beat Buffalo and played New England tough in their previous two games to go 3-1 against the spread. The total has gone OVER in their last two contests after staying UNDER in their first two.
New England is off to a 3-0 straight-up start, but tight wins over Buffalo and the New York Jets as a double-digit favorite as raised some legitimate questions to just how good this team really is. This past Sunday the Patriots looked more themselves in a 23-3 victory over Tampa Bay as 7.5-point home favorites, but that may have been more a product of a Buccaneers’ team that is in complete disarray. The total has stayed UNDER in all three Patriots’ games this year.
The Dirty Birds are going to be ready to pounce in this one on Sunday afternoon. The NFC South favorites, the Atlanta Falcons are going to try to beat the NFL betting lines against a dark horse team in the NFC, the St. Louis Rams as a part of the Week 2 schedule.
The Atlanta Falcons had the best record in the NFC last season at 13-3, but they could not get by San Francisco in the conference title game. Much of that same team remains intact especially at the offensive skill positions. Matt Ryan has a couple really dangerous targets in the passing game with wide receivers’ Roddy White, Julio Jones along with the return of veteran tight end Tony Gonzalez for one last run at a NFL title.
Cincinnati will take its first step towards a third-straight trip to the postseason this Thursday night in its preseason opener. It got there the past two seasons as a wildcard team in the AFC with a 9-7 straight-up record in 2011 followed by a 10-6 SU mark in 2012. This team has its sights set on the AFC North title in 2013 as it truly believes the talent is there to get past both Baltimore and Pittsburgh for the division crown.
The preparations for the start of another NFL season are underway for all 32 teams as we are only about a month away from the start of training camp.
