There are clearly only three playoff contenders in the Southwest Division this year in NBA betting action, and it wouldn’t be overly surprising if any of the three came away with the division crown. Here’s how we’re breaking down the Southwest in what could be a very entertaining year in the Lone Star State.
When push really comes to shove, betting on the NBA in the Pacific Division starts and ends with the Los Angeles Lakers. There are just no teams in this pack that can hunt down the defending champs, and unless something severely goes wrong, the rest of these teams are only trying to get into the playoffs as one of the lower seeds to try to get some experience for future seasons.
Four teams were separated by just three games last year in the Northwest Division, and it should come as no surprise that the battle really came down to the very last day of the season to determine how the seedings were going to work in the playoffs. NBA betting action should be tight all season long in this division, as there are at least three, and probably four contenders to this crown.
You won’t find a better core division in the NBA this year than the Southeast, and it’s not just because of the additions of two of the best players in the NBA. All five teams have taken positive steps that could make them all contenders for not only the Southeast Division crown, but the NBA Championship as well.
My, how the face of this division changed in a heartbeat! The departure of F LeBron James from the Cleveland Cavaliers has really left this division in flux. This is perhaps the most open of the six divisions this year, though there is an odds on favorite to look at. This could be a division full of surprises though, and is certainly one that you are going to want to keep a close eye on when analyzing the NBA odds for 2010-11.
Last season, the Atlantic Division was arguably the worst in the NBA. There was legitimately only one playoff contender, and though the Boston Celtics ultimately were good enough to win the whole conference, it certainly wasn't a year for these five teams to be proud of as a whole. Unfortunately, much of the same is going to be true this year.
