Long Beach State 49ers vs. Syracuse Orange Pick

The Long Beach State 49ers went to Pittsburgh and stunned the Panthers in the non-conference season last year. They’ll travel to the Carrier Dome to try to knock off the Syracuse Orange on Thursday night. Both of these teams look a lot different than they did last year. Long Beach State isn’t the mid-major power they were a year ago, but they are still good enough to make some noise if Syracuse overlooks them.

Oklahoma Sooners vs. TCU Horned Frogs Pick

After a slightly disappointing 5-2 start to the season, Oklahoma has won four straight to get to 9-2 on the year. The Sooners came from behind to beat Oklahoma State in the Bedlam rivalry last weekend. TCU upset Texas in a key rivalry game last week as well. The Horned Frogs are looking to end their first season in the Big 12 with an upset win at home.

Marquette Golden Eagles vs. Florida Gators Pick

With the Big Ten/ACC Challenge out of the way, now the Big East and the ACC take center stage. Marquette and Florida met last year in the Sweet Sixteen, and the Gators came out with a 68-58 victory. Both teams have quite a few new faces, but both are expected to be high quality teams. Let’s take a look at this big early season matchup.

Rivalry week in college football is here, and the big rivalry in the state of Georgia is between the Bulldogs and the Yellow Jackets. No one could have expected it a couple weeks ago, but the Georgia Bulldogs are right in the thick of the BCS title chase now, and they can’t afford a slip up here. The Yellow Jackets would love nothing more than to ruin their chance at the title.

Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints Pick

The Atlanta Falcons are unbeaten halfway through the season. Atlanta has been a great regular season team over the last couple years, but they haven’t been able to have any success in the playoffs. The Falcons are looking to put it all together this year. The team they take on this week may be 3-5, but the New Orleans Saints are clearly a very dangerous team. Look for a great game in the SuperDome this Sunday.

It hasn’t taken the Missouri Tigers long to figure out how difficult it is to win in the SEC. Missouri picked up its first SEC win last week against lowly Kentucky. They’ll have a much tougher task this week as they head into the swamp to take on the Florida Gators. The Gators were beaten by rival Georgia last week, and you can bet they are itching to get back on the field.

Virginia Cavaliers vs TCU Horned Frogs Pick

It’s a battle of the ACC vs. the Big 12 as Virginia takes on TCU this weekend in Texas. TCU comes into this one 2-0, while Virginia is 2-1. The Cavaliers beat Penn State two weeks ago, but they were throttled by Georgia Tech in their ACC opener last weekend. Can Virginia hang around in this one or will TCU run away with it at home?

Virginia has made quite a bit of progress in the last couple years. Mike London is trying to turn this team into a perennial contender. The Cavaliers went 8-5 last year in what was a major turnaround season.
