As sad as it is, the Boston Celtics are leading the Atlantic Division with just eight wins in 20 games. They’ll try to improve upon that on Friday night in NBA betting action against the Denver Nuggets.
The Boston Celtics have won back to back games on the NBA betting lines to extend their series against the New York Knicks. Can they force the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to a pivotal Game 7? They’ll have to win at the TD Garden on Friday night to be able to do so.
After finding a way to take Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals to stay alive, the Boston Celtics look to really turn up the heat on the New York Knicks in a pivotal Game 5 in NBA betting action at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night.
The Knicks came into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the league with a 16-2 straight-up run to close-out the regular season. They were also extremely profitable to wager on during this run with a 15-3 record against the spread. New York did not take its foot of the gas for a minute in this series with an 85-78 victory in Game 1 as a 7.5-point home favorite followed by a dominating 87-71 rout on Tuesday night as a 6.5-point favorite. The total stayed UNDER in both of these games.
Boston’s current form heading into the first game of this best-of-seven series leaves much to be desired with a 3-6 record both straight-up and against the spread in its last nine games. The end result was an overall 41-40 SU record and a 36-42-3 record ATS. The Celtics really struggled on the road this season with a woeful 14-27 SU record and an extremely costly 15-25-1 record ATS. The total has gone OVER in their last five games.
Indiana comes into its final two games of the regular season with nothing on the line as far as playoff position. Its 1-4 straight-up (0-5 against the spread) record down the stretch helped ensure it would remain in the No.3 spot in the Eastern Conference and this past Sunday’s 90-80 loss to No.2 New York as a 3.5-point road underdog sealed the deal.
Boston has pretty much settled into the seventh playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 2.5-game gap with sixth-place Chicago and Atlanta and a three-game lead over Milwaukee, which is in eighth. It has gone just 2-4 straight-up and 1-5 against the spread in its last six games which is not the best form to have heading into the postseason.
Brooklyn tightened its grip on the No.4 seed in the Eastern Conference with a lopsided 104-83 victory over Philadelphia on Tuesday night as an 8.5-point favorite at home. The total stayed UNDER the 187-point line. The Brooklyn Nets are now 5-3 straight-up in their last eight games but just 3-5 against the spread.
