The Los Angeles Lakers are back above .500 for the first time in a very long time. Kobe Bryant willed the team to victory Friday night against the Raptors. Chicago has been treading water of late. The Bulls really need Derrick Rose back as soon as possible to contend for a title, but they are good enough defensively to hold their own while he is gone. These two will meet at Staples Center Sunday afternoon on ABC.
Chicago is tied with Brooklyn for fourth-place in the Eastern Conference standings, but it will have a hard time staying there if it does not improve upon a 6-9 SU record in its last 15 games. The Bulls are now 34-26 straight-up overall and 27-33 against the spread this season. They remain one of the best road teams in the NBA at 17-12 SU and are a profitable 18-11 ATS.
It has been a season to forget for Philadelphia as any thought of making a return trip to the playoffs has pretty much ended with its current six-game losing streak. The 76ers may have hit rock-bottom in Tuesday night’s 98-84 beatdown at the hands of lowly Orlando as 8.5-point home favorites to fall to 22-33 straight-up on the year and 25-30 against the spread. They now head on the road where they are a dreadful 6-18 SU and 10-14 ATS.

The Spurs are still without the services of both Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili, but they are 2-1 both straight-up and against the spread in the first three games of an extended road trip including a 111-86 rout of Brooklyn on Sunday as 2.5-point favorites. San Antonio is now 40-12 SU (29-21-2 ATS) overall and 18-10 SU (16-12 ATS) on the road. The total has gone OVER in five of its last eight games.
The Chicago Bulls have been short-handed all year, but they have done a nice job staying right around the top of the NBA Central Division. Chicago is one of the few teams in the NBA that has been better on the road than they have been at home. Utah is consistently one of the best home teams in the NBA, and this year is no different. Can the Bulls come out of Utah with a win or will the Jazz continue their home dominance?
