Georgetown Hoyas vs. Cincinnati Bearcats Free Pick
Things are starting to heat-up in the Big East as the regular season hits the stretch run and Georgetown is right in the thick of things with a six-game winning streak. It is coming off a huge 63-55 victory over No.18 Marquette this past Monday as a five-point home favorite. The Hoyas are 18-4 straight-up overall and after covering in every game during this run they are now 11-7 against the spread.
Syracuse Orange vs. UConn Huskies Pick
The Big East already looks a little different than it used to, and it is going to look a whole lot different in a year or two. For the time being though, there are still some very good matchups. Syracuse already beat Louisville on the road, and the Orange will be looking to take down Connecticut on the road on Wednesday night in front of a national television audience on ESPN.
Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats Pick
Way back at the beginning of the season the Texas Longhorns were the favorites in the Maui Invitational. Texas flopped in Maui, and they have never really found their groove ever since. The Longhorns would need a minor miracle to be in contention for a NCAA Tournament spot. Kansas State is 15-4 on the year, and the Wildcats are 9-1 at home. Bruce Weber’s team is 4-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Wisconsin Badgers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes Pick
The Wisconsin Badgers and Ohio State Buckeyes are tied at 5-2 in the Big Ten standings. Both of these teams have been very up and down so far this year. Michigan and Indiana are going to be tough to catch at the top of the Big Ten, so these teams know they can’t afford many more losses. Recent matchups between these two have been very hard fought games, and I expect nothing different in this one.
Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs Pick
First year Coach John Groce has the Illinois Fighting Illini off to a 9-0 start. Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are also 9-0. The Fighting Illini are ranked 14th in the nation and Gonzaga is 10th in the nation. Groce did a great job with the Ohio Bobcats last year, and he is off to a great start with Illinois. Gonzaga has a great home court advantage and this should be a huge game between two unbeaten teams.
