The Texas A&M Aggies have made the tough move to the SEC, and they are finding quite a bit of success thus far. First-year coach Kevin Sumlin has this team playing a new style of football, and it has led the team to a 6-2 record and a spot in the top 25. Mississippi State is 7-1 on the year, with their only loss coming last week to Alabama. The Bulldogs were dominated by the Crimson Tide, but everyone has been so far this year. This is a key SEC matchup for both teams.
It hasn’t taken the Missouri Tigers long to figure out how difficult it is to win in the SEC. Missouri picked up its first SEC win last week against lowly Kentucky. They’ll have a much tougher task this week as they head into the swamp to take on the Florida Gators. The Gators were beaten by rival Georgia last week, and you can bet they are itching to get back on the field.
Michigan and Nebraska both come into this game at 5-2 on the year. The big difference though is that Michigan is unbeaten in the Big Ten, while Nebraska has already dropped a game in the conference. These two teams have the inside track at the top of the Big Ten Legends Division. Nebraska will have a big home field advantage here at night. Will it be enough for them to get right back to the top of the division?
Few programs have undergone as much turmoil and change over the last two years as the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Penn State Nittany Lions. These two proud institutions are both ineligible for postseason play this year. Still, both teams have been playing some very good football so far this season. The Buckeyes come into this one unbeaten on the year, while Penn State has won five straight in impressive fashion.
Two teams who have been huge surprises in the Big 12 and in the nation overall will meet Saturday afternoon in a key Big 12 showdown. The Texas Tech Red Raiders are 6-1 and ranked 17th in the nation. Kansas State is 7-0 and ranked third in the nation. These two teams have both walloped the West Virginia Mountaineers in the last two weeks. Can Bill Snyder’s team stay in the national title picture or will Tommy Tubberville’s team knock off another top five team?
The Florida Gators might have had a disappointing 2011, but Will Muschamp’s bunch has been on fire in 2012. The Gators are number two in the latest BCS Rankings. They’ll face a stiff test this week when they take on the Georgia Bulldogs at the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Emotions will be high, and there is a lot on the line in this key SEC East contest.
The Oregon State Beavers weren’t expected to even be competitive in the PAC 12 this season. Mike Riley’s team may be the biggest surprise in the nation so far this year. The Beavers come into this one at 5-0 and ranked #11 in the polls. Can the Beavers keep their magic going this weekend in Corvallis when the Utah Utes pay them a visit?

UCLA had another disappointing season last year, and they hired Jim Mora Jr. to take the team in a different direction this year. The Bruins are off to a solid 4-2 start to the season. Still, they are just 1-2 in the PAC 12. Can they level their conference record with a home win here?
The Red River Rivalry isn’t quite as meaningful in the national picture as normal, but that won’t stop these two heated rivals from battling hard all the way through this Saturday afternoon’s contest. Both teams already have a loss and are almost assuredly out of the national title picture, but this is still a rivalry game between two teams with aspirations of winning the Big 12 Conference.
