South Carolina came painfully close to knocking-off No.6 LSU last Saturday in a 23-21 loss as a three-point underdog on the road. The loss dropped the Gamecocks to 6-1 both straight-up and against the spread on the year, but they still control their own destiny in the SEC East heading into this huge showdown.

Quarterback Conner Shaw has done a good job running the South Carolina offense this season and running back Marcus Lattimore is returning to form after suffering a devastating knee injury last season.

The college football season presses on for Week 8 as the BCS standings were announced. The games are getting more important and it is vital to look at some of the recent trends that could affect the outcome of games.

It starts early on Thursday this week when Oregon travels to Arizona State for a big early test. It is interesting to note that the trends show the Sun Devils as a good net as a home team in conference. The Sun Devils are 13-6-3 ATS in their last 22 conference games and 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 home games.
